Ahh-Mazing

Opening day was a huge success!  Ok, only a few rough spots - mainly in the set changes (more on that later)...but not for Miranda!
She went on stage like she owned it!
Here she is heading to the theater....hair- done, make up- almost ready

After putting on costume and wig...she's ready!
I just love this photo of her :)
Here is a few shots from the show - (I didn't take them because I was working sets backstage)

Like I said before....totally A-Mazing!
After the first Matinee, I took a bunch of the girls to Fazoli's for lunch... they had so much fun and even serenaded the patrons during dinner :)
Back at the Theater...everyone was all a-buzz getting ready for the evening show...

The show went sooo well!
And again...Miranda was on her A-Game!
After the show everyone gets to meet the cast in the lobby...it's a fun crazy time!

Grandma Smith was finally able to come see one of Miranda's shows!  She has been on her mission for the other two.
6 more to go....I can't wait!

Dress Rehearsal

After a crazy week of tech rehearsals at the Theater...it's time for Dress Rehearsal
Miranda was super excited to put her full look together

This is her least favorite costume because it's hard to move with those sleeves dangling
Miranda's Chinese henchmen... Ching Ho and Bun Foo
Miss 2-face after rehearsal...she was testing out the Mulan trick where she wipes off her make-up with one swipe...it can't happen :)
Tomorrow is opening Day... sooo excited!

Tech - Time

Tech week is a crazy time in Theater... everyone's emotions are going from excitement to stress to excitement again...
Miranda seems to take it all in stride and just loves getting ready to be on stage!

First order of business is to make the "Woman Cave" sign  (aka...Lead Female Dressing rooms)

This is very important so no man goes in here by mistake :)
Miranda got to try on her wig for the first time... it looks amazing..heavy, but amazing

The show is coming up quickly.... there is definately excitement in the air!

Parker's re-model

I have set a few goals this new year...(some easier to keep than others)
One of them is to organize/de-clutter/re-decorate a room each month.
I figure I can do it if I have an entire month.
So, where to start?
Parkers Bedroom.
Other than getting a new bed a couple years ago, his room has been neglected. No paint, no new baseboard, nothing.
So here is Parker's room before (well, one side anyway)

And now here is Parker's room AFTER..

The walls are a light grey and we have plans to do some graphic square design on the wall behind the bed.  We also still need to pick up a shelf for the wall opposite the bed.  But hey.... it's a good start!

Another Test

I'm not sure how it happened exactly....but it started at Seussical,  the first play Miranda did with Broadway Bound.  No one quite knew what to do with the entrance table to display their flyers and such.  I guess I said I had a tablecloth they could use...then one thing led to another and before I knew it, I did the entire display. (you can see the first one I put together HERE it's towards the bottom)

Then the next year, they did Annie.  They asked me to create the lobby table display again ( at least this time I had a little more notice)  I was able to create a fun table that represented the show. (you can check out the Annie display HERE)

So now, time for Thoroughly Modern Millie....I even offered to create a display this time and was able to have plenty of time to prepare.   I created the background city scape on my Cricut and the framed title using vinyl as well.

Miranda modeling the table and her Millie cast T-shirt

It turned out pretty good and can't wait to put it up for the show.

Testing....Testing

We went to a meeting about hair and make-up for the play Miranda is in (Thoroughly Modern Millie). Miranda wears a wig for the entire show and her make up is done up like a Chinese Geisha girl.
So this is our first attempt at getting her hair ready for wearing a wig and her doing her make up.

I know...only half is done, but remember...this is only a test :)
Miranda is super excited for the play.... she gets to play Mrs. Meers - the villan of the show.

Snow Day!

Just a once-every-every-few-years snow storm in Las Vegas!

Unfortunately it was all melted by the time kids came home from school :(
