Arrow of Light

Last night we had Parker's Arrow of Light Ceremony. He is pretty excited to move on from Cub Scouts into the official Boy Scout group.
Both sets of Grandparents came to support Parker as well as his cousin Walker.
Before Parker could get his Arrow of Light he had to receive his Webelos badge. All his scout troop had to recite the Scout Oath. ( Parker looked so excited to do this)



Each of the 3 boys who were receiving their Arrow of Light had to come up with a game for all the troop to play. Parker decided he wanted to do a dart throw. Miranda was our graffiti artist for this fabulous backdrop.Then we added balloons and the fun began! I ordered some "boy scout" themed prizes, but of course they didn't get here in time for the event. So I had to improvise with some from Party City
Once the games were over it was time to give the Arrow of Light Awards. Ryan began the Ceremony by shooting 3 arrows (one for each boy) into a target. I was so nervous that he would miss the target and put a nice hole in the church walls, but he, of course, didn't and the walls remained untouched. (whew!)

And then with a final salute to their troop, they left Cub Scouts behind and crossed over the bridge into Boy Scouts

Parker is now an official Boy Scout (sniff sniff). He has had some fabulous leaders along the way. His Webelos leaders, Bro. & Sis. Majors, were so great with him. They know their stuff and really helped Parker learn alot about the scouting program.

Now we're looking forward to his Eagle Court of Honor.... a few years down the road.
