Back in Action

I'm back from Cedar......and home just in time to celebrate Father's day with Ryan.
He is such an amazing dad to our kids. He is always there for us no matter how busy he gets. Miranda and Parker designed a fun book for him on the computer last night. it was neat to see how much they love him and wanted to get everything just right. We're really going to miss him when he's away in Africa for 3 weeks. Things just aren't the same when he's gone.

I'm thankful for my own dad and the example of love, compassion, charity and kindness he has always shown me. Not to mention the power packing skills I got from him! (You should just see how he loads a trailer for a camping trip)

Cedar was wonderful. It was beautiful cool weather (but not too cool) and the kids had a great time. My car is now whole again and Miranda's braces are adjusted!
It's a tradition whenever we go to Cedar to visit Bulloch Drugs and get ice cream. This trip was no exception. It's not too far from Grandma & Grandpa's house so we usually just walk.


Bulloch's is set up just like an old fashioned ice cream parlor and the kids just hang out at the bar to enjoy the ice cream.

Afterward we ventured across the street to the Dollar Store. The kids enjoyed using the pedestrian flags to cross the street.

It's amazing the treasures you can find for only $1.
Parker and Walker each bought a boomerang ball. The kind that is attached to elastic and comes back to you when you throw it. They were thoroughly entertained ALL weekend with these things. I was so nervous that one of them might break (remember, they only cost $1)that I had them go back the next day and get a spare.


Parker and Walker were going to visit the Pawn shop, but decided they didn't need to after they found such wonderful things at the $1 store. (Parker has decided he's going to register at the pawn shop for his wedding)
I was able to walk with Nancie each morning. It was such beautiful weather. I thoroughly enjoyed our morning walks and visits.
Friday night was the Summer Games Opening ceremony so we were able to watch a fantastic fireworks show.
It was a great mini vacation to start off the summer! The only thing that would have made it better is if Ryan had come. He stayed home and did not enjoy being a bachelor. He did get the kids closet doors hung! Miranda's so excited!
