Alpha Dog

Ok, so maybe it should be Alpha Girl. Miranda was chosen as September's Student of the month in Choir. The school had a special luncheon today for all the recipients of the "Alpha Award" and their family. Miranda "didn't care" if I came or not, but of course I had to be there. (Because that's what moms do)
We were served a gourmet 3 course meal of Pizza, chicken fingers and ice cream. Miranda didn't know which teacher nominated her for the award and was pleasantly surprised when it was from choir. There are soooo many students in there that she didn't think she would ever get chosen.
Guess that means she's one of this Teacher's favorites!
We're so proud of her and all her wonderful accomplishments at school. She is a fabulous student. She always comes right home and finishes homework without complaining. She always tries her best in all the subjects, and that's the most we could ever hope for. Besides having to re-take Algebra 1 along with her, we rarely even need to help or nag at her to get things done.
Seriously, where has the time gone. When did my little Miranda become a teenager? She is such a joy to be around. I'm always enthralled with her stories and happenings of the day as she recounts them to me on the drive home each day.
She isn't afraid to be herself...and that is a fabulous thing!
